Malus Floribunda Profusion (Japanese Crab Apple)

Planted by Alan and Chitra

This Flowering Crab Apple boasts coppery red foliage when young which turns a dark forest green before adopting hues of yellow/bronze in the autumn. Both the flowers and fruit produced by this tree are a deep, purple wine (almost red) colour. The flowers are produced in ‘profusion’ from April and followed by the small purple crabs which, although not suited to culinary use, are very popular amongst wildlife, proving to be a favourite with bees.

Crockham Hill, Kent

Dominic Carver was a great friend to Paul and it seems only fitting that this tree should be planted at his parents house.
